Joe has travel goals

If you have ever visited jws.dev, you might have noticed my Travel Goals page. I think that I’m setting the overall goal of knocking out everything from the list by the time I hit 60. I’ll be 40 in August, so that’s a little over 20 years.

Here is what’s left on the list (at the moment):

Number Country Notes
India April 2020
Nepal April 2020
Peru Saving for 2021
Italy Might try for Fall 2021
A transatlantic crossing crossing by boat Might try for Fall 2021 at the tail end of the Italy trip
Trans-Siberian Railway (or Trans-Mongolian Railway?) 2022?
Ireland 2023? (Ireland, Scotland, and “Land’s End to John O’Groats” together)
Scotland 2023? (Ireland, Scotland, and “Land’s End to John O’Groats” together)
Land’s End to John O’Groats 2023? (Ireland, Scotland, and “Land’s End to John O’Groats” together)
Hong Kong Maybe the tail-end of 2023 (with Australia)?
Australia Maybe the tail-end of 2023 (with Hong Kong)?
Egypt Maybe do together with Jordan?
Jordan Maybe do together with Egypt?
Greece
Azores It’s supposed to be the Hawaii of the Atlantic
Turkey I’m saving this one for until their political situation is a little more stable.
Chile I would like to see Easter Island as part of this. I’ve read that it is kind of pricey, though.
Cuba This one might be a little tricky due to the relations between Cuba and the US.
Canada I want to take a train across Canada.
United States I want to take a train across the US (coast to coast).
South Korea Among other things, I want to see the DMZ.
Thailand
Vietnam I really want to go by bike from the South to the North but I’m guessing that I would end up taking the train.
Cambodia I want to see Angkor Wat
Singapore
Japan I would like to explore beyond just Tokyo
Morocco I’ve been to Tangier and Chefchaouen but I’d like to see Marrakech
All US States This might take a little while. 😉

This is definitely going to require that I average more than one trip per year. I might try alternating one trip one year and two trips the next.
