Joe bought a drone … again

A little over a year ago, I bought a DJI Spark used off of eBay and this past fall, I kind of crashed it into my garden shed.  I wasn’t paying attention and the drone was trying to save me from myself.  I didn’t get it fixed right away because I had a lot of other things that I needed to pay for.  With my 2020 India trip now cancelled and Milwaukee’s bike trails unsafe, I tried to get it fixed but DJI’s repair shops are shut down due to COVID-19.

I will still eventually get the Spark fixed but I ended up going out to Best Buy and buying a DJI Mavic Mini (via curbside pickup).  The used Spark cost me $300.  The new Mavic Mini cost me $500 (I bought the fly more combo).  The new drone has a higher resolution camera, a 3-axis gimbal instead of a 2-axis gimbal, and more than double the battery life.  It can also fly higher and faster.  You do give up frontal collision detection, though.

So, how do the pictures and videos look?

I think that it looks pretty good. Have any questions? Feel free to leave a comment, below.
