I listen to a heck of a lot of podcasts while at work. I occasionally listen to Pandora or an Audible book but a lot of my workday is spent with a podcast playing in my headphones. I figured that I would share my top five favorite podcasts (in no particular order).
1. This Week in Google [Audio RSS]
This Week in Google is a weekly podcast (as implied in the title) about Google, Facebook, Twitter, other general online services, and to a certain extent publicness. It is hosted by Leo Laporte, Gina Trapani, and Jeff Jarvis. The show covers a spectrum of topics that is interesting and does so in an fun way. The production qualities are good, too.
2. Freakonomics [Audio RSS]
I first went looking for the freakonomics podcast after listening to the two freakonomics books. It’s hosted by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner. It’s an interesting look at “the hidden side of everything.” It’s worth a try. They post something new once every two or three weeks, it seems. It’s usually an economists view of something economists don’t normally look at (like prostitution, standardized test scores, or sumo wrestling).
3. Motley Fool Radio Show [Audio RSS]
This is a weekly podcast about business, investing, and the economy. It is an interesting podcast. They also have a daily podcast but if you are going to listen to only one of the two, pick this one.
4. Windows Weekly [Audio RSS]
Windows Weekly is another podcast of the TWiT network. It covers most things related to Microsoft. It is hosted by Mary Jo Foley, Paul Thurrott, and Leo Laporte. It is a good solid source of info regarding Microsoft. It is enjoyable to listen to. I look forward to it every week.
5. On The Media [Audio RSS]
This is a WNYC-produced podcast on the media (as the name implies). It isn’t a news source. It is a news source about the news source.
